The College of Engineering, Science and Environment brings together expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to deliver life ready graduates and transformative solutions to our region and the world. ​

Spread across study areas in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), our degree programs focus on the development of innovative, resourceful and creative graduates - future leaders in industry, the profession and the community. Choose from our courses on offer across University of Newcastle campuses in Newcastle, Central Coast, Sydney and Singapore – as well as the option to study online.

Our state-of-the-art facilities and learning spaces foster an environment conducive to success and innovation. The world-class NIER building, located on Callaghan campus, is home to some of our biggest research breakthroughs. Collaborative spaces for researchers, industry and staff helps facilitate our impressive research accomplishments. While an array of laboratories, design studios and virtual learning spaces create a dynamic environment for our students to experience and learn.

Engaging with the community is important to us. Our Exercise Physiology Clinic, located on the University’s Central Coast campus, and Psychology Clinics at Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses offer high-quality, low-cost care to the local community, while also providing a training facility for postgraduate students. Our researchers, staff and students lead a range of initiatives and events such as the Science and Engineering Challenge, and the Science, Maths and Real Technology Program to engage school students and the community in STEM, and offer Professional Development to teachers.
